Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Monitorable when you create an account, install the collector, and use the service.

Last updated 23 September 2026

These terms apply when you create a Monitorable account or use the service. By doing so you agree to them. If you are using Monitorable on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind that company, and “you” means the company.

The service

Monitorable is a hosted server-monitoring service: you install a collector on your Linux servers, it sends metrics to us, and we store them, show them in a dashboard, evaluate alert rules, and deliver alerts to the destinations you configure. What the collector sends and what it never reads is documented on What is collected.

Monitorable is run by its founder, Anton. Legal-entity details will be added to this page when the company is incorporated. Contact: hello@monitorable.io.

Your account

  • You need to be at least 16 and give a working email address.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in methods and API keys safe. An install command contains a per-server API key; treat it as a secret. Removing a server in the dashboard revokes its key.
  • You may only install the collector on servers you own or are authorised to monitor.
  • Organizations let you share dashboards with others; members act under your organization’s account, and the owner is responsible for them.

Acceptable use

Don’t use the service to break the law, to attack, probe, or overload Monitorable or anyone else, to send abusive alert traffic to third-party destinations, or to circumvent plan limits. Don’t resell access to the service as your own. We may suspend an account that does these things, after contacting you where we reasonably can.

The collector is open source; the service is not

The collector (the “agent”) is published under the Apache License 2.0 at github.com/monitorable-io/monitorable-agent; that licence, not these terms, governs your use of its source. The hosted service, the dashboard, and our other software remain ours. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while you have an account, within your plan’s limits.

Plans, trials, and payment

  • The free plan is free for as long as it exists, within its limits.
  • Paid plans are described on the pricing page, with the current limits for servers, metric retention, channels, templates, and team members. Paid plans start with a 14-day trial that needs no card; if you don’t subscribe by the end of the trial, the account returns to the free plan’s limits.
  • Subscriptions renew monthly or yearly until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; the plan stays active until the end of the period already paid and is not renewed. Partial periods are not refunded unless the law where you live requires it, or we failed to provide the service.
  • Payment is handled by our payment provider; you agree to its checkout terms when you pay. Prices exclude VAT and similar taxes unless stated otherwise at checkout.
  • We may change prices or plan limits. Changes to a paid plan you are on take effect at your next renewal after at least 30 days’ notice by email; you can cancel before then.

Your data

Metrics, server metadata, and everything else you send us are yours. You grant us the right to store, process, and display them only to run the service for you. You can ask us for a copy of them in an open format at any time. Removing a server revokes its API key and deletes its metadata immediately; its metric history stays stored, unreachable from the dashboard, until the retention period in the Privacy Policy ends. Deleting your account removes the account and its data as described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

Availability and support

We aim to keep Monitorable running continuously and to fix problems quickly, but self-serve plans come without a contractual uptime guarantee. Alerts depend on things outside our control — your server’s network path, your email provider, the messaging service you chose — so Monitorable must not be your only safeguard for anything where a missed or late alert would cause serious harm. Support is by email at hello@monitorable.io.

Changes and termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may close free accounts that have been inactive for more than 12 months after an email warning, and we may end or change the service with at least 30 days’ notice, refunding any prepaid period we don’t deliver. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms or endanger the service.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it, and our total liability to you for anything arising from these terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, or lost data, except where caused by our gross negligence or intent. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here affects the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in.

Governing law

Until the operating company is incorporated and named on this page, these terms are governed by the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and disputes are brought before the courts competent there. Once the company is named, this section will state its jurisdiction, with the same notice as any other change.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email to account holders at least 30 days before they take effect; continuing to use the service after that date means you accept them. The date at the top shows the current version.
